For me, living in Japan, Christmas has come to be a season that naturally evokes thoughts of Miruku. For the past two years, at the request of an acquaintance, I spent some time with Bichon Miruku, who would briskly run around the house on her full-bodied frame, bringing laughter. There was nothing out of the ordinary. We simply ate dinner as a family, smiled at Miruku, and spent ordinary moments together. Yet, even now, when I think of Christmas, what comes to mind first is the atmosphere of that day and Miruku’s bright presence. It was only a brief meeting once or twice a year, but Miruku gave our family a warm Christmas. So, even now, when Christmas comes, those lively steps and pure gaze return to my memory before anything else.
